SUVAJ Rooms is a family-run establishment, managed directly by the host family on site. The atmosphere is calm and unobtrusive: we are present on site and available when needed, while always giving guests their own space and time. The house is located in a typical row house of Southern Italy, in the village center, on a quiet street opening onto a small green square. Classic Italian bars, small grocery shops, and public green spaces are just a short walk away. A bright and well-kept double room is available, furnished in a retro style with contemporary elements, recalling traditional homes, simple and functional. The room has a balcony, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a mini-fridge. The private bathroom features a spacious shower and hairdryer. Bed linen and towels are provided. During the stay, the room is occasionally refreshed, always respecting guests’ privacy. For small moments of independence, guests can use a kettle, coffee machine, and microwave. Free public parking is available on the street in front of the house and is generally easy to find. The SUVAJ Restaurant is located in the same building, where breakfast and meals can be booked.

We run SUVAJ Rooms as a family project and are personally present on site as a point of reference for our guests. We enjoy welcoming people from different parts of the world and sharing an authentic side of Calabria, shaped by small villages, local cuisine, slow rhythms, and everyday life. Valerio, a cooking teacher, brings a strong focus on gastronomic tradition, while hospitality for us is a simple and natural gesture. We speak Italian, German, and English and are happy to offer tips or suggestions to guests who wish to explore the area. Our approach to hospitality is warm and familiar, yet always discreet and never intrusive.

Galatro is a small, authentic village in the Calabrian hinterland, characterized by a calm, slow pace of life. The village center is easy to explore on foot; typical village cafés, small shops, and green spaces are all nearby. The Galatro thermal baths are located just outside the center, reachable in about 20 minutes on foot or 4 minutes by car. They are a place dedicated to relaxation and well-being, visited by both locals and guests seeking a break from everyday life. Galatro is a great base for discovering a less touristy side of Calabria — and a place to return to in the evenings to rest and recharge after excursions. By car, both the Ionian and Tyrrhenian coasts, as well as towns such as Nicotera and Tropea, are easily accessible. Guests interested in everyday local life will find opportunities for personal exchange in the area, especially around local food and the Italian language, in direct contact with the people who live here.
