Our location combines two important advantages: the old town, with its squares, churches, small shops and restaurants, is within easy walking distance, while guests can still enjoy a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere away from the busiest areas. Our spacious rooms and suites are individually furnished with great attention to detail. Bright interiors, carefully selected furniture and distinctive historic patterned floors combine the charm of the villa with modern comfort. All rooms feature a private bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Comfortable beds and high-quality linens help our guests feel at home from the moment they arrive. A special part of the stay is our lovingly prepared breakfast. We serve a varied selection of fresh fruit, croissants and pastries, cakes, and savoury Italian specialities. Villa La Tuia enjoys a particularly convenient and peaceful location just outside Lucca’s historic city walls. The old town can be reached within a few minutes on foot, while your car remains safely parked in our gated private parking area. Lucca is wonderful to explore on foot or by bicycle. One of the city’s most memorable experiences is a walk along its completely preserved city walls, which now form a green promenade around the historic centre. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful views of Lucca’s rooftops, towers and gardens. The old town offers numerous small squares, churches, shops, cafés and restaurants. Its best-known attractions include Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, the Guinigi Tower with trees growing on its rooftop, Piazza San Michele, the Cathedral of San Martino and the elegant shopping street Via Fillungo. Music lovers can also visit the birthplace and museum of the famous composer Giacomo Puccini. The surrounding area offers an excellent selection of traditional restaurants, wine bars, ice cream parlours and small cafés. We are always happy to recommend suitable places personally – from an informal lunch to a special dinner featuring traditional Tuscan cuisine. Lucca is also an ideal starting point for day trips. Pisa, Florence, the Versilia coast with Viareggio, and the towns and countryside of Tuscany are all within easy reach. The Garfagnana region, with its mountains, villages and hiking trails, provides a beautiful contrast to Tuscany’s historic cities. After a day of exploring, you can return to the peaceful surroundings of the villa and enjoy a relaxing evening.
