Why Vida Locrese? Because we are located in Villino Ida, created by my father for my mother, in the land of my ancestors. In the plains, just 5 km from the unspoiled Ionian coast, with a horizon facing the majestic Tre Pizzi of Aspromonte, lies Merici, a charming countryside-seaside area ready to welcome you with the warmth of Southern hospitality. We are on the Coast of Jasmine and the Riace Bronzes, in Locri Epizefiri of the Magna Graecia figures Zaleucus, Nossis, Agesidamus, and Euthymus, at the foot of the magnificent medieval town of Gerace (7 km away). The four family rooms, all renovated, air-conditioned, and with outdoor views, are surrounded by an ancient orange grove, karst hills, and… sculptures (if you are lucky, you may hear the chisel “playing”). You will enjoy a spacious shared kitchen (separate from the sleeping areas), where you can share our typical foods, available on request and already featured in our “du panaru” breakfasts: basically a brunch! And after the sea? Relax on the lawn by the panoramic saltwater pool (NB: unattended, 1.20 m deep, open from June 1st). We will provide you with all the information you need and offer smart courses in Calabrian cooking and ceramics. You can reach us by train or bus to Rosarno or Locri. By plane, from Lamezia Terme or Reggio Calabria airports. From there, you can choose a personalized transfer or a bus (which stops in Locri, where we will gladly pick you up). Vida Locrese is run by me, Antonio, my children Alessandro, Claudia, and Laura, “my” Erika, together with Manuela & Massimo… under the supervision of Mom & Grandma Ida. NB: Cleaning, linen, and towel change are free after 7 nights (washing machine use on request). For safety reasons, barbecues and the wood-fired oven cannot be used.
