Private Hostel TORUS is a small two-story hostel with a retro atmosphere located in the center of Shuzenji Onsen. The building was originally a greengrocer's shop and a private house, and was renovated and reborn as a hostel. We support the experience of "staying as living" with family, friends, and other important people. The first floor of TORUS has a chillout and library space, and a free drink bar where TORUS focuses on local green tea, natural deep ground water from the Izu Peninsula, and high quality coffee made by a skilled roaster. The second floor has a kitchen and living room, two tatami bedrooms, a shower, and a toilet. The two bedrooms (6 and 10 tatami mats) are ideal for families, friends, or couples traveling together. Shuzenji Onsen is the oldest hot spring resort on the Izu Peninsula, with a history of over 1200 years. TORUS includes a ticket to "Hakoyu," a one-day spa facility built of hinoki cypress, a 3-minute walk from the hostel, so please take advantage of it. We will provide you with an onsen set (basket, towels, soap, etc.), so please feel free to bring your own. The owner of TORUS is a local, so we have prepared an original TORUS map with nearby restaurants, recommended sightseeing spots, etc. We hope you will use it to help you on your trip. The basic rate is for up to 4 persons, with an additional charge per person for 5 or more persons. The maximum number of guests is 7. One free parking space is available; please let us know in advance if you are coming with more than two cars. Please let us know in advance if you are coming with more than one car. It will be a family-run inn that loves the nature and the unique and diverse landscape of the Izu Peninsula. We used to operate in the form of a guesthouse with a total of 4 rooms, but due to the growing need for post-corona , we have become a hostel that supports private travel and is limited to one guest per day. We would be happy if you could relax in our private space and enjoy your own style of travel.

Shuzenji Temple is located in the center of the hot spring resort, a 3-minute walk from the inn, and you can enjoy the historic scenery of the hot spring resort outside, such as the footbath "Tokko-no-yu" opened by Kukai and the "bamboo grove path" which becomes even more fantastic at night.
