This small guesthouse is a self-renovated traditional house, originally a geta shop built in 1931, situated on the main street in front of the station in Yokogawa-machi, Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Unlike typical hotels or ryokans, it is a ‘local-style’ accommodation where guests can enjoy the charm of the old building, including its age and any minor inconveniences.

This accommodation is designed for those who wish to enjoy a ‘stay in a small town in Kagoshima’ rather than simply ‘staying at a tourist destination’. The accommodation features a communal living room, kitchen and free Wi-Fi. A municipal hot spring facility is located approximately a 2-minute walk away. The JR Hisatsu Line and airport buses run through the area, but services are limited. Taxis are also scarce in this area. Access to Kirishima Onsen, Kirishima Jingu Shrine, Kirishima Art Forest and Kagoshima Airport is convenient if you have your own car or hire a car.

The hotel is approximately 20–35 minutes’ drive from Kagoshima’s famous tourist attractions, including the National Treasure Kirishima Jingu Shrine, the Kirishima Hot Springs, and the open-air art museum ‘Kirishima Art Forest’. It is also about a 20-minute drive from Kagoshima Airport. The ‘Kirishima City Yokogawa Health Hot Spring Centre’ is located nearby.
