Opened January 2026! Etsu is a comfy log home that offers a spectacular view of Lake Toya. Located rather remotely, it is a great place to quietly escape, enjoy nature and spend some quality time with your loved ones. We love sounds that can be heard at the lodge- no traffic, just bird and bugs (and possibly someone mowing their lawn). Enjoy the night playing one our favourite board games and watch the fireworks from the balcony that go off at 8:45pm in Toya Onsen town (the city across the lake)(April 28-Oct 31 only). Travel by personal car is strongly recommended. ** Beds 5&6 are futons in the loft, not sofa beds (we can't figure out how to change it) **For music lovers: ** Estsu is equipped with an acoustic guitar and cajón **For summer guests**: Air conditioning is available in the 2 bedrooms but not in the main area (including the loft which would be beds 5&6). **For winter guests**: the private road only gets snow cleared at the latest at 10AM so please do not count on making first lifts or early airport flights on extremely snowy days (although it very rarely happens)
We are a young family of 3 who live nearby and fell in love with the Toya and Rusutsu area.
We are a 15 minute drive from Rusutsu Resort and a 25 minute drive from Toya onsen town. Local restaurants and farmers markets are also located within a 7 minute drive. The lodge is located in a quiet cottage country neighbourhood area behind a farmer's field.
