My Story When I was 15, I left my hometown of Kagawa. From the age of 20, I lived in several countries around the world, experiencing different cultures, landscapes, and ways of life. Although I encountered many beautiful places and diverse perspectives, one image always remained in my heart—the peaceful countryside of Miki Town, where my grandparents’ family home has stood for generations. It is a place that feels nostalgic, where nothing extraordinary is needed to make you feel truly at peace. I wanted to preserve this place for future generations and share the beauty of rural Japan with visitors from both Japan and around the world. That dream is what inspired me to create AZAMIYA. This house is a carefully renovated version of what is believed to be Kagawa Prefecture’s first reinforced concrete residence, built over 55 years ago. We have preserved its history while creating a space where traditional Japanese charm and modern comfort exist in harmony.
