■ Renewal Open: April 2026 ■ Reopening in April 2026 after renovation. Okaniwa is a private vacation rental located in the mountains of Kiso, Nagano, limited to one group per day. The property has been updated with a new outdoor deck, private sauna, and renovated bathroom and toilet, which can now be accessed directly from the living area. From inside the house, you can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and village landscape, along with natural wood textures and soft light. The bedroom has two beds and two futons, making it suitable for families, couples, and groups of friends. Okaniwa is also a convenient base for visiting Tsumago-juku and the Nakasendo Trail. In June, the greenery becomes deeper after the rain. Even on rainy days, you can enjoy the sauna, reading, cooking, and a quiet stay surrounded by nature. ■Natural Environment (Insects)■ - Our facility is surrounded by abundant nature. We take all possible measures and regularly employ professional pest control technicians, but please note that you may encounter insects and small creatures. If you absolutely hate seeing insects and small creatures, please refrain from staying here. If any unpleasant creatures appear, our staff will come to your home to exterminate them, so please let us know. Additionally, the indoor lighting is dimmed to protect against insects. ■Barrier-Free Access■ To use the sauna or barbecue terrace, you will need to climb an outdoor staircase. Please be aware of this if you are a guest with mobility issues. ■Meals■ There are no restaurants within walking distance. Please plan accordingly. ■Consideration for the Neighborhood■ The surrounding area is quiet. Outdoor eating, drinking, and fireworks are prohibited after 9:00 PM.
