Built in 1935, this historic Japanese home has been carefully preserved to honor its original character and craftsmanship. Here, you do not simply stay — you live. In a peaceful rural town, experience the understated beauty of Japanese daily life: the warmth of natural wood, ever-changing natural light, and the quiet presence of the surrounding nature. Free from the uniformity of modern hotels, this home offers something increasingly rare — authenticity. Within easy reach of Tōke Shrine and Ogigahama Beach, it is an ideal retreat for guests seeking cultural depth, calm, and renewal.
While traveling the world with a backpack, I experienced acts of hospitality that left a lasting impression on me — quiet, thoughtful service that made me feel genuinely welcomed, not like a customer. Inspired by those experiences, I decided to become the one who welcomes guests in Japan. In 2026, I opened a small guesthouse in my hometown, near the sacred paths of the Kumano Kodo. For a limited number of guests each year, I also design private pilgrimage journeys along the Kumano Kodo for those seeking reflection and renewal. Private Kumano Kodo pilgrimage journeys are available to selected guests only.
