We've always been in love with nature and animals and felt that we wanted to live in harmony with both these aspects. This tented camp actually was inspired by the countless visitors that we hosted that would be passing by from their travels and needed a place to rest. They interacted with the animals we take care of and shared stories underneath the milky way with a cozy bonfire and they inspired us to create a place that travellers could rest and meet new people, sharing stories and being in the present not distracted by any gadgets and technology. We also loved the idea of making it an eco-lodge because sustainability is the future, so we have reduced our consumption of electricity, everything on-site is powered by solar energy. We also encourage guests to reuse the towels and sheets provided to cut down on the water consumption of the hotel. We believe in sustainability in the tourism industry because it contributes to a balanced and healthy economy by generating tourism-related jobs while protecting and enhancing the area's social, cultural and natural resources for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors.

Oldonyo Orok Tented camp is an escape from the busy city life and an immersion into the heart of nature. Sleep under canvas and wake up to the melody of the birds. The camp offers you an up close experience with the wild animals of the area including Elands, antelopes, dik-dik, gazelle, impala, wildebeests, ostriches, as well as exotic birds. It is the perfect hillside getaway for families and friends bringing you closer physically and emotionally. We are here to provide you with an authentic experience between travelers, nature and culture. Oldonyo Orok camp is an easy drive from Amboseli National Park. We are able to provide you with a vehicle and a guide to embark on the famous game drive experiences that Kenya has to offer. We want our guests to feel very comfortable while still being in the complete bushside, therefore we provide toiletries, house slippers, hot and cold running water, some tents are equipped with a kitchen provided with the needed utensils, pots and pans. You can do a little yoga with the stunning view of Mt. Kilimanjaro and enjoy the view of the acacia treetops all the way up to our famous hill the Oldonyo Orok mountain.

One of the most common attractions that our guests come for from all around the world is the Oldonyo Orok mountain. It is situated in southern Kenya right next to the Tanzanian border in the Namanga division. It has an elevation of 2,548 m. Hiking up the hill can take anywhere from 4-6 hours and we provide you with a packed lunch and a local Maasai guide that will safely lead you up the dirt road hill. The hill is a gazetted natural forest that serves as a water catchment system for the community. There is a Namanga River that cuts a deep gorge through the mountain and you can also spot caves used by Masaai Morans in some of their rituals. This hike is a most rewarding outdoor experience for the hiking enthusiasts because after the hard work there is a beautiful waterfall oasis at the top of the mountain. We also have amazing terrain for mountain biking. There are countless dirt road trails that cut through the landscape leaving you in awe of its beauty. For all the bird enthusiasts, we have an abundance of birds at the lodge, and book guides that can help you learn more on the species you encounter. Star-lovers will also be in awe at the sight of the milky way right above them.
