Babel Guesthouse is run with an active focus on Responsible Tourism. We constantly seek to provide benefits from the tourism industry to the local community in Siem Reap, and we are doing our best to cause as little damage as possible to the area in which we operate. We only hire local staff, drivers and guides.We sponsor all our staff and some of our Tuk Tuk drivers with higher education. They all receive plenty of training, good working conditions, fair salaries and flexible working hours to enable the staff to continue their education. We buy our food for the restaurant at the local market, and we support good projects in town that actively focus on Responsible Tourism. We at Babel Guesthouse are looking forward to give you memories for life!

Set in a lush tropical garden, we offer a swimming pool, an open-air restaurant serving local, western, and vegan-friendly food, and comfortable, minimalist rooms — all air-conditioned with private bathrooms. We're proud to run Cambodia's first Eco-shop and Refill Station, where guests can shop plastic-free by bringing their own containers to fill with shampoo, conditioner, mosquito repellent, and other locally made sustainable products. Our long-serving local staff, drivers, and guides know Siem Reap inside out and are always happy to help you plan your days — from the temples of Angkor Wat, just 15 minutes away, to hidden local gems only residents know about. Stay with us, and your visit directly supports fair wages, staff education, and community projects across Cambodia.

Neighborhood info

Babel Guesthouse sits on a charming, quiet street in the Wat Bo area — away from the noise of the city center, but close to everything you need. Within the neighbourhood you'll find mini-marts, coffee shops, local restaurants, and even a craft beer pub just around the corner. It's a lovely riverside walk from Babel into town, or head the other way and within five minutes you're in peaceful countryside. There's also a local pagoda within walking distance, where you can receive a blessing from the monks — a memorable experience many of our guests love. For anything further afield, our 18 wonderful tuk tuk drivers are always ready to help. They know Siem Reap inside and out, and are happy to share their local knowledge to help make your stay unforgettable.
