Slow, simple days by a beautiful beach... Tucked between lush greenery and picturesque Mawella Bay, Podi Beach House is our little corner of paradise on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. In Sinhala, "podi" means small—and that’s the spirit here: a simple, cozy beach house for those who want to slow down and immerse themselves in the rhythms of the place. Whether for a quiet retreat, a long stay, or just a few days by the ocean, Podi Beach House invites you to live simply and travel consciously. About the space: The Podi Beach House is not a hotel or a villa. It's a cozy little house by a incredibly beautiful beach. The house comes with two well sized bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and hot water, plus ceiling fans in all rooms and living areas, and a portable fan for use anywhere in the house. The space can accommodate 1-4 guests at a time. We only take one booking at a time so you get the whole space to yourself regardless of whether you are a solo traveller or a group of 4. The common areas include a living room, front verandah opening to the garden, and an outdoor dining area overlooking the backyard. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with complimentary tea and coffee. The bathrooms come with bathroom amenities and fresh towels and linen, and there is a washing machine for your convenience. There is complimentary WiFi throughout the house. Deep cleaning of rooms and common spaces every 4 days and fresh linen and towels every 10 days is provided for long stays (1 week or more) at no extra charge. For shorter stays between 4-7 days we provide cleaning of common spaces every 3 days and room cleaning on request.

The 2 minute walk is through a quiet pathway between a lagoon and lush greenery. • Quiet, peaceful environment where you can hear the sound of the ocean from your backyard while being surrounded in lush greenery and an abundance of nature all around. • Conveniently close to nearby gems: only 15 minutes to Hiriketiya (surf spots, cafes, nightlife and general buzz), 5 minutes to Unakuruwa (hidden surf spot in Tangalle) and 15 minutes to Tangalle town (local markets and daily life). • Getting around is convenient. You can easily catch a tuk tuk using the local ride share app 'Pick Me' or we can directly connect you with trusted tuk tuk drivers in the neighbourhood. Scooter rentals are also available in the area (you would have to rent this yourself).
