The Zeegolf story is dated over 100 years and three generations... When our grandfather, Sydney, moved to Galle Fort with his family, the Zeegolf Hotel was only a small house with a stable. A lot of local travellers stayed in our home-stay residence to spend the night. Eventually we turned out to be a famous hangout spot for local travellers. Then his visionary daughter, Mallika took over the responsibility after completing her vocational training in hospitality and a decade of experience. She converted the place into a beautiful home-stay lodging with professional services and amenities. Initially, the revamped establishment was known as "Yellow House" because of the colour of the house. At present, her nephew, Manuja has taken over the stay-home residence, incorporated guests' requests and feedback, and expanded into a boutique hotel while maintaining the original Dutch architecture and culture along with modern facilities and commodities. The original structure of the Zeegolf Hotel still stands and is well taken care of. The history of our hotel infrastructure dates back to the 1910s, when Sri Lanka was colonized under the British rule. We are proud yet humbled to share our rich history and hospitality with you.
