As one of the Latvian Historic Architectural Monuments, the Duke Jacob's Court Drugstore (official name) was built in 1622. Now at 400 years old, this is the oldest building in the town that is still inhabited by the town's residents. With 8 apartments in this original structure, our Hercog Jacob's Apartament is an opportunity for guests to experience what life in this town, and the building was like 100's of years ago. The exterior and the interior hallways still stand with stamps of time past. It can be an eerie reminder of a different time period, a wonderful experience for those who love history. But when gaining access to the apartment Nr. 8, it is a refreshing site of a bright space, renovated comfortably to suit today's lifestyle.

Welcome to my project of love, the Hercog Jacob's apartment! My name is Ligita and I have over 2 years of experience hosting guests in another town through AirBnB. I have since retired from hosting at the previous property with the aim to continue to host in this beautiful town of Kuldiga. I am not originally from here, but my story with Kuldiga started 15 years ago when I first stepped into this town that had yet to see any influx of tourism. Returning over the years I have built a deep-rooted connection to this place, the history, it's people and the nature that surrounds it. I have since dreamed of telling it's story and showing it's picturesque scenery to the world. Hosting for you, the guest, is my dream realized. The apartment is at the very heart of the town. Here you will find all sorts of attractions at the door step of the building. The Tourist Center is just downstairs, together with cafe's, restaurants, museums, parks, water fountains, churches, shops, other small hotels and guesthouses, the Town Hall and even a fresh water pump, in the middle of it all, for access to drinking water.
