Everything was great. We have already stayed here about 10 times, and we are always happy to come back! The breakfast is truly out of this world. Sauna in our room was great addition to our stay ! Personally, we like the rooms that have a view of the canal promenade, but of course that is a subjective opinion.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this property. The food was outstanding, even better than what I’ve had in many 4 and 5-star hotels in Western Europe. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I didn’t expect such a high-quality experience in a remote city, but this place exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended, will definetely visit again!

Breakfast was tasty and hefty. It was like a proper home breakfast and even more - omelette, small sausages, pancakes, jam, cereals, juice, cheese, bread, etc. There was also a swimming pool, small rooftop terrace, grilling facilities for guests, but we did not use any of that. There is also a designated parking area for the guests. This guest house has very interesting interior, it is obvious that the owners have a vision how this place should look like in order to stand out in a good way.

I slept very well with the air conditioning. Great water pressure. Location is also great. To the south are the pedestrian walking and shopping areas. To the north a couple blocks is the river front park. Parking is right behind the building. Breakfast buffet is very nice. Nice hotel!

Second time visiting, as a room happened to open up last second. Hosts are very helpful, central location, and very reasonable rates make Portoss a great pick. Breakfast available for a small fee is warm and filling. Appreciate that they welcomes our small dog too!

A wonderful combination of camping close to nature and being close to the city, a short tram ride or drive to the center. The facilities are excellent, clean and among the best I have seen at campgrounds. And the host is very accommodating.

Nice beaches.

Nice beaches. A historical town with some interesting architecture. We took an 1-hour cruise at the canal, which was a nice way of learning about the site. The house museum of the Hoyer Guest House was interesting and it has a nice traditional restaurant. There is a tourist map that shows walking routes in the old town, which are marked on the pavement. A tip for the interested: in Jaunliepaja there is a street called Esperanto Street (Esperanto iela)!

I am in the process of building a house in Ventspils as I ve absolutely fallen in love with the area and the people . I’ll continue to stay in the Centre until my place is finished but look forward to being here for many years to come .

Very nice little town and a good place to stay to explore...

Very nice little town and a good place to stay to explore the countryside in the National Park up to the coast. Nice cafes like Marmalade or Pi cafe. Choice of restaurants is sufficient. We stayed at Raxti apartments which was wonderful.

Favourite places: liked vey much place we stayed in (Butterfly House) Pavilosta. local artist residence centre was very nice. Cafeteria Laiva - good food (pizzas) and friendly service. A pet-friendly place. Nice sandy beach (in both sides of the river).

Kolka is a very sleepy small village, were the only thing to see is the spectacular and scenic Cape Kolka, were the Baltic Sea and the Bay of Riga meet. Well there is a Livonian Community House, but we missed it. It stunning nature is enough for you, Kolka is worth a visit. But if you look for nightlife or action, forget it.

It is not a town. It is a T-crossing with 3 grocers on it.

It is not a town. It is a T-crossing with 3 grocers on it. The post-Soviet housing area is separated, hidden in the forest and without any practical meaning for the „city-effect”. A small, nice beach on the most northern outskirts of that village. No place to have breakfast. Few places to have lunch. No place to have a propper dinner. Two nights, one day, it is maximum maximorum for Roja.

What were your favourite places there? Our favourite things were the beautiful beach, relaxing by the campfire in the evenings, and the amazing view from the house. Where did you eat? We cooked all our meals at the house. We grilled kebabs (shashlik) and roasted potatoes over the campfire, which made for a wonderful family experience. Is it easy to get around Bernāti? Yes, it's a very convenient and easy place to get around. Everything we wanted was within easy reach. What are some great activities for families with young children like yours? Walking along the beach, exploring the forest, and collecting fallen branches for the evening campfire were our children's favourite activities. It's a perfect place to slow down, spend time outdoors, and enjoy nature together.

The city of Liepāja is truly amazing.

The city of Liepāja is truly amazing. It is charming, welcoming, and beautifully clean. Every evening offered a different concert in a new location, creating a vibrant cultural atmosphere throughout the city. Culture is clearly at the heart of Liepāja—the city where the wind was born. The seaside is breathtaking, and the cosy cafés along the coast are the perfect place to enjoy spectacular sunsets while listening to live jazz or relaxing house music. Liepāja is a city that inspires, energises, and invites you to return.

Nice, clean city ( at least the areas my family visited), a lot to see and to do, even more if weather is good. Not so crowded. Excellent beach, areas are separated for different needs (dogs, kitesurfing, etc)

We celebrated my husband’s birthday in Kuldiga. Most restaurants close at 8 pm we only found one that stayed open until later. This restaurant in the main square was fantastic, nice food and great service. I loved the waterfalls and the surrounding area. An absolute little gem.
