Camping "Saulesmājas" (Houses of the Sun) is located just one minute walk from cape Kolka. It is an extraordinary accommodation with a view to the sea. The round barrel-shaped houses have a little hallway with a seat on the right and on the left side. There is a small folding table that can be carried outside as well. And then there is a double bed with all the bed linens. When you lie down in the bed, you can see the sea, you can watch sunset or watch the stars because there is a big window right to the sea. It is made as a mirror from outside. It is a very romantic place where to stay and a bit exotic, too since the only light there is a candle light. There is a WC, too. Swimmers and those who would like to take a shower should bring their own towels. There is a chance to rent a barbecue. This camping is special because of it's location and unusual style of architecture. It is the best place where to enjoy sunsets and sunrises - cape Kolka is one of the rare places in Latvia where to see both, sunsets and sunrises in the sea. The main reason why people choose to come to Kolka is to see the beautiful cape Kolka. It is only one minute walk from the camping houses. There is also Kolka visitor center right where the parking is and also a summer cafe "Divjūriņas" next to it. It is about 200 meters away from the camping. About 100 meters from cape Kolka on the bay side there is a mobile sauna Pirts Kolkas ragā at the coast of the sea. There are 2 shops in Kolka, post office and a gas station. You can see churches in Kolka. There are Liv villages Vaide, Saunags, Pitrags, Košrags, Mazirbe on the way to Ventspils.
