Established in 2007, Moroccan Hideaways operates six properties in and around Marrakech and the nearby High Atlas mountains: three riads in Marrakech medina (Riad Africa, Dar Africa & Riad Explore); two lodges in Toubkal National Park (Kasbah Africa & Dar Assarou); plus Nkhila Lodge, a tented wilderness camp in the Agafay Desert, close to Marrakech.

Nkhila Lodge is a unique tented wilderness camp located on a high plateau in the heart of Marrakech's Agafay Desert. Facing the High Atlas mountains with a distant view of Mount Toubkal, guests can sleep in luxurious stargazing tents built on stilts. These romantic ensuite tents, with transparent ceilings, are situated 15 metres apart to ensure privacy, and enable a unique view of the African night sky. The camp is solar-powered and designed for guests to experience the night-time magic of Africa's dark skies. Alternatively, choose to stay in a comfortable Moroccan-styled caidal tent, set in a circle around a camp fire.

Neighborhood info

The Agafay Desert is a unique wilderness area characterised by arid stone desert with dry river beds, rolling hills, rounded peaks and palm oases. Agafay is located below the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, 45 minutes' drive south of Marrakech. Eastern Agafay is located near the N'fis river valley, which is fed from the mountain springs of the High Atlas mountains. The eastern region offers the best views of the Atlas throughout the year. Local attractions include Lake Takerkoust, quad biking, camel riding and desert walks.
