he Palais Amador may seem isolated and secluded, but you’ll find plenty of attractions and activities located nearby. Golf fans are in luck as there is not one, but in fact three golf courses in the surrounding area. Amelkis Golf is a 27-hole course located in the heart of Marrakech; Royal Golf is situated in an unrivalled natural setting and has been in operation since 1933; and finally there’s Maaden Golf – a championship 18-hole course. If golf doesn’t do it for you, then there’s also the Al Hamra Equestrian Club open for trekking around the striking red countryside - and much more comfortable than a camel. And of course there’s always the ‘Red City’ of Marrakech just 30 minutes away and ripe for exploration. Shop for coloured lamps and sequinned slippers in the rabbit warren-like souks or munch on dried apricots and dates while watching the Berber musicians in Djemaa el-Fna.
