Green Tax rates in the Maldives have undergone significant changes, effective 1 January 2025, In line with the 14th amendment to the Maldives Tourism Act, the updated rates have applied to all tourist establishments, including resorts, guest houses, and vessels.

Under the new changes, Green Tax is doubled for most establishments. Resorts, integrated tourist resorts, resort hotels, tourist guest houses with more than 50 rooms, and vessels now charge USD 12 per guest per night. Meanwhile, guest houses operating with 50 or fewer rooms on inhabited islands charge USD 6 per guest per night. Children below 2 years old are exempted from green tax
