About Your Host: The Soul Behind Alma Roma I am the result of a curious blend: Chinese, Mexican, and European roots that taught me from childhood that the whole world fits around a table and within a conversation. An accountant by training, but a gastronome and chef at heart for over 17 years. The kitchen saved my life. Alma Roma (formerly 1940's B&B Mi Casa Tu Casa) was born over eight years ago, right after a divorce. What began as a personal refuge became a home with open doors for travelers from everywhere. Here, there are no guests: only temporary family. My commitment is to welcome you as I would a distant cousin arriving in the city: with hot coffee, a story under my arm, and the certainty that someone is looking out for you. My journey through Mexican, French, and other cuisines left me with one certainty: breakfast is not the first meal of the day; it is the first embrace.
