Excellent location in Roma Norte. Comfortable bed. The apartment was quiet, and it was never an issue to wait for the shared bathroom. I did not get to meet Octavio, but he provided lots of helpful information through WhatsApp. Would stay here again!

Alma Roma (Formerly 1940's B&B Roma Norte) Alma Roma is not just a place to sleep. It is a home with soul, built in 1943 in the heart of Colonia Roma Norte. Our concrete walls and 2.75-meter-high ceilings have witnessed 80 years of history, and today they open their doors so you can write your own. The breakfast that awaits you (and that our guests love so much) Every morning, the aroma of freshly brewed Mexican coffee wakes you up. At the table, a homemade breakfast prepared by your host awaits: fresh seasonal fruit, and if you stay more than two nights, more Mexican delicacies. This is not a hotel breakfast. It is a morning embrace with the flavors of Mexico. A rest with history Our three rooms (3.5 x 3.5 m) preserve the generosity of 1940s architecture: spacious areas, natural light, and a peace you won't find in a modern hotel. Bed linens are cotton, the pillows are firm, and every detail is designed for you to sleep deeply. For the traveler who works (and for the one who just explores) We understand the digital nomad. We have high-speed Wi-Fi and a workspace in the living room. But if you come to get lost in Roma, we leave you a map with our best-kept secrets: the best coffee spot, the hidden bakery. The bathrooms are shared, yes. But spotless. We clean daily. There is always toilet paper. It's like sharing at home, but with the certainty that everything is always perfect. What our guests say "Waking up at Alma Roma was the best part of our trip. The coffee... there are no words!" — María, Spain "I thought I would miss the elevator, but the stairs are worth it for such an authentic home." — John, USA "It feels like being at home." — Rajesh Tamang, Nepal
About Your Host: The Soul Behind Alma Roma I am the result of a curious blend: Chinese, Mexican, and European roots that taught me from childhood that the whole world fits around a table and within a conversation. An accountant by training, but a gastronome and chef at heart for over 17 years. The kitchen saved my life. Alma Roma (formerly 1940's B&B Mi Casa Tu Casa) was born over eight years ago, right after a divorce. What began as a personal refuge became a home with open doors for travelers from everywhere. Here, there are no guests: only temporary family. My commitment is to welcome you as I would a distant cousin arriving in the city: with hot coffee, a story under my arm, and the certainty that someone is looking out for you. My journey through Mexican, French, and other cuisines left me with one certainty: breakfast is not the first meal of the day; it is the first embrace. That is why every morning I personally prepare what we serve, with recipes that travel from the markets of Roma to my family memory. I am also passionate about Mexico City's history. If you like, I will take you through streets you won't find in guidebooks, tell you what happened in this neighborhood in 1943, and share secrets only a local knows. I am part of an active community group in Roma Norte because I believe hospitality doesn't end at the doorstep. I also offer basic medical guidance to those in need and personalized tours for those who want to feel the city, not just see it. Here you will find someone who listens, guides, and cares for you. This is Alma Roma. A home with soul. A host with history. And a family waiting for you.
The Neighborhood: The Vibrant Soul of Roma Norte and Juárez Alma Roma (formerly 1940's B&B Mi Casa Tu Casa) sits at a privileged crossroads where the creative energy of Roma Norte meets the vibrant history of Colonia Juárez. Here is what our guests love most about waking up here: An open-air architecture museum You will see everything from Art Nouveau and Art Deco mansions from the early 20th century to displays of contemporary urban art. I suggest wandering aimlessly along Avenida Álvaro Obregón, the neighborhood's lively main artery, and getting lost on iconic streets like Orizaba or Colima. Park life and long conversations The local experience comes alive in its plazas. Plaza Río de Janeiro, with its replica of Michelangelo's David, is the social heart of the neighborhood; perfect for sitting down to read or simply watching life go by. Very close by, Parque Luis Cabrera offers a quieter respite with its art installations. In the evenings, the lively atmosphere around the Fuente de Cibeles, a gift from the Spanish community, is ideal for a drink as the sun sets. Cultural havens and hidden corners Here, art is not only in museums but in the streets. You can visit MODO (Museo del Objeto del Objeto) in a restored mansion, or discover the house museum of surrealist painter Leonora Carrington. Just by walking, you will uncover the secret charm of Plaza Romita, a tiny cobblestone oasis that will make you feel as if you were in a small village within the city.
