FOUR DAY reservations minimum. Casa del Limon is a colonial building dating back to the 1700s. Its walls are very thick and built using the original adobe technique, thus keeping the house warm in winter and cool in summer. Most of the rooms face the inside patio featuring a warmed dipping pool in the middle (open February to November) and an open air fireplace with a sitting area. The house is built on four terraces. The ground floor features the colonial rooms with the original moldings, including a grand living room, an intimate sitting room in moorish style, a vast tiled traditional Mexican kitchen, a formal colonial dining room and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms and a bathroom are on the mezzanine overlooking the private patio. The second and third floors grant spectacular views of the city and include an open air veranda with a full sitting room, a Mirador room with a spectacular view, a second warming kitchen, a bathroom, a living room and a third bedroom. Guest can choose to rent the entire house with three bedrooms (6-guests) or the portion with two bedrooms (4 guests). The entire house is in colonial rustic chic style. CAN BE RENTED AS A 3-BEDROOM (6 or less people) OR AS A 2-BEDROOM HOUSE (4 or less people).
The house is in a pedestrian area in the very center of the city, two minutes on foot from the church of San Francisco, three minutes on foot from the Sopena Street (one of the main drags of downtown Guanajuato), and five minutes on foot from the Juarez Theater and from the main square "Jardin de La Union" where all the nightlife and civic celebrations happen. The basilica is 7 minutes away on foot. Views from the rooftops in this neighborhood are spectacular and grant the best sunset views of the city.
