La Casa del Árbol is a peaceful oasis in the heart of Oaxaca’s historic center. The home is built around a beautiful avocado tree that is over 200 years old, giving the house its name and a truly unique atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else in the city. Our space combines traditional Oaxacan character with a warm and welcoming design. Natural light, plants, and handcrafted details create a relaxing environment where guests can unwind after exploring the city. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet morning coffee in the patio, working from the terrace, or simply relaxing under the shade of the old tree, the house offers a calm retreat from the busy streets nearby. We also offer comfortable workspaces, fast internet, and inviting common areas so guests can feel at home whether they’re traveling for leisure, remote work, or adventure. Our goal is simple: to make every guest feel like they’ve discovered a special place in Oaxaca.
La Casa del Árbol is located in Oaxaca’s historic center, one of the most vibrant and walkable areas of the city. Guests love the neighborhood for its combination of culture, gastronomy, and authentic local life. From the house, you can easily walk through colorful colonial streets filled with artisan shops, cafés, galleries, and some of the best restaurants in Oaxaca. We are just a short walk from the iconic Santo Domingo Church and the beautiful Ethnobotanical Garden, a popular venue for weddings and cultural events. Many of our guests stay with us when attending weddings or celebrations in this unique garden setting. The house is also located about 5 minutes from Jalatlaco, one of Oaxaca’s most picturesque and artistic neighborhoods, known for its colorful murals, charming streets, cafés, and great local restaurants. You are also within walking distance of the lively Zócalo, traditional markets, museums, and countless places to enjoy Oaxaca’s famous cuisine, including mole, tlayudas, and mezcal. Whether you are visiting Oaxaca for a wedding, cultural exploration, or simply to enjoy the beauty of the city, this neighborhood offers one of the best locations to experience it all.
