Jalatlaco is one of Mexico's most photogenic barrios — cobblestone streets, colorful murals on nearly every corner, and cozy café patios tucked into its colonial architecture. Centro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a short taxi or rideshare ride away (or a walkable 25–30 minutes for those who enjoy it): home to the Templo de Santo Domingo, the Zócalo, and the city's best restaurants, mezcal bars, and artisan markets. Oaxaca is one of Mexico's great cultural capitals — world-class food (tlayudas, mole negro, memelas), small-batch mezcal, and centuries-old textile and ceramic traditions, alongside a growing wave of chefs and artists. Día de Muertos here is among the most celebrated in the country.
