An unique place in the center of Schagen an old small town with the remains of a castle from "Knight Magnus". Around the old church there are only café's, bars and restaurants. In the B&B is also a small family restaurant, called "Upstairs". The husband of the owner, his name is Loek, had his own restaurant a few years ago and he is passionated about preparing food from the region for their gasts. Good fresh meat, fish and vegetables. He will allso take care of breakfast and lunch. You can enjoy your meal inside the property-restaurant or outside on our cosy terras whenever it's nice weather. In your beautiful "towerroom" you will find a map with the complete menu. North-Holland is famous about our flowerbulb-fields, the beach, beautifull places to cycle, the cheesmarket in Alkmaar. Natalia was born in Russia and is living now for about 6 years in Holland. She met her husband Loek in his restaurant, which he had before, and they became a couple. She started her own business as a nailstylist about three years ago in Schagen. She is specialiced in manicure & pedicure. You can find her nailstudio also inside the property on the topfloor. Inside you can also find a beautiful collection of byouterie: bracelets, earrings and necklesses made by a Russian artist and selled for nice prices. Nice as a gift or......... just please yourself! The city of Schagen is a beautifull place with a lot of old, traditional houses around the big church. In the center there a also the remains of an old castle from the period of " Knight Magnus". There are a lot ofnice places to go around Schagen. First offcause is Alkmaar, "Cheese City". with het Cheesemarket and the Cheese auction. Don't miss it! Then there are several small towns on the beacxhtline of Northern Holland, like Bergen, Egmond aan Zee, Schoorl, Petten, Callantsoog and so up to Den Helder. The last ons is our Navy City. There are some nice musea. Ask for the Fortress Napoleon it is about 2 km from Den Helder in Huisduinen, inside the fortress is also a sea aquarium.....Beautifull. Also in the neighbourhood you can find a very small town called Anna Paulowna. Here you can find a super cool ZOO. The private owners of this zoo are looking all over the world for animals which were deserted, mistreated or heavenly wounded or living in war places. They "rescue" these animals and give them new life inside their beautifull ZOO. The goal is however to give them back new life in wilderness or special parks all over the world.
