The origins of Landgoed Loenen are more than a thousand years old. De Heerlijkheid Loenen is one of the most beautiful noble houses in the Overbetuwe. It is an old and noble country house, built around 1809 as the successor to a medieval castle. Many noble families with high administrative positions in the grand Duchy of Gelre have inhabited the estate over the past centuries, including Berthold of Ghent. In 1644 he signed peace with Spain on behalf of the 6 Dutch regions and the grand duchy of Gelre. Today, the Loenen estate covers approximately six hectares and, in addition to the country house from 1809, also includes a coach house and orangery and two barns. The 6 Bed & Breakfast rooms are located in the main house.
The current residents are all over fifty. And they did not want to spend their old age behind the geraniums and therefore bought De Heerlijkheid Loenen. By renting out the B&B rooms, we want to further develop and maintain this beautiful estate for the future. Your host Inge takes great pleasure in receiving her guests and preparing a delicious breakfast to ultimately make your stay a great success.
De Heerlijkheid Loenen in Slijk - Ewijk is located 10 km from Nijmegen. On our website we made suggestions for several culinary highlights within the city of Nijmegen. At De Heerlijkheid Loenen you can enjoy cycling, golfing, visiting museums, discovering nature and relaxing in one of the most beautiful estates of the country. Also, don’t forget to relax in the nearby saunas, while also paying a visit to two zoos nearby. Briefly, De Heerlijkheid Loenen is a great place to come to your senses.
