I came back to Nijmegen for a weekend reunion after studying there 20 years ago - it is still such a beautiful city, although things have changed so much since my student days. I came with my husband and would love to come back and visit again with more time to explore the things we didn't get to see this time round. Wonderful city with wonderful memories, and the potential to make more beautiful memories.

The size of the city felt just right, somewhere between a bustling city and a smaller town.
The city centrum had pleasant pedestrian zone, with surprisingly many options for shopping.
If you are interested in history, a visit to the museum of De Bastei is highly recommended - good amount of the exhibitions were available in English, and Google Translate works great for the rest.

Only there for a morning but lovely old historic town, interesting shops and vibrant market. Coming from England it seemed expensive as does all of the Netherlands. Best bit for me was watching the use of the river for seriously large canal barge traffic; they even have beaches on the river: seemed to make a mockery of our wee canals and Narrow Boats! However, the sun shone which obviously helped.

Nice place, there isnt enough facilities for disable people especially in the centre if you would like to use toilets etc in restaurants/ coffee shops. There isnt any sign post or announce in English in the buses or trains, also in the city centre.
Therefore, it can be struggle.

I love this city, it's my favourite place I have been to in...
I love this city, it's my favourite place I have been to in the Netherlands (so far). The city centre is very walkable, despite it not being flat (highly unusual in the Netherlands!). Plenty of cultural sights, and things to do. Easily accessible by train with great connections all over the country.
You can easily spend a few hours, or even a whole day, at the river beach (Waalstrandje) when the weather is nice.
There are a few shopping streets, personally I like the Lange Hezelstraat with its record shops, gift shops, and vintage clothing stores, or if you like the high street shops then the Broerstraat is the place to go.
The Grote Markt and old town area is full of small streets with little shops, cafes, and bars. The Kronenburgerpark and Valkhofpark are pleasant places to sit and read a book or have a picnic.

A lovely, vibrant city, full of youth and optimism, with good selection of bars and restuarants. Some off the beaten track and some very traditional. It is a university city so always a young outlook in its shops,

Great queen room. Spacious and clean. The bed was large and comfortable. Love the large window! Amazing view over the Waal and Nijmegen. Breakfast had everything you could want. The staff was friendly. Parking garage next to the hotel. YOu give your license plate number beforehand, and that gives you free access to the parking garage during your entire stay. And also next to station Nijmegen-Lent, which means 5 min to Nijmegen Central.

Absolutely love this hotel, every time I’m in Nijmegen, this is the hotel I go for ! Super clean, great staff with always a smile and ready to help ! Breakfast is delicious. And the room is super clean with an amazing bed for a good night rest !

Great location in central Nijmegen, only a 5 minute walk from the train station. Lots of places to eat and drink on the doorstep. Room was nice and spacious and the beds were comfy. Staff were really helpful and allowed us to drop our bags.

Great location next to the station and only a short walk to the city centre amenities. The single room I had wasn't the largest but it was well laid out. The hotel had all the facilities I needed.
