De Vrouw Dina is a traditional Dutch sailing vessel build in 1897. In 2009 it was totally renovated and outfitted for passengers. There are 6 cabins each with a bunk-bed for 2 people and annex a shower and toilet. The beds are made and there is a small towel for everyone. Every cabin and shower has a radiator. The kitchen has an oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster and the cooking is on electricity. There's also a sitting area with sitting space for more then 12 people. In summer we sail with passengers over the dutch waters but from November till March De Vrouw Dina is a houseboat for group accommodation.
I am Simi and the owner of De Vrouw Dina.Together with Daniel we take good care of our ship. We do not live on board but will check in every day to see if everything is going all right. We live only 5 minutes away and can see the ship from our window. We will welcome you on board and hand you the key after a short introduction and necessities.
It's a quiet neighborhood, with some small houses and a road in between. On the other side of the ship there's water of course but also a park an a view to the old arch/entrance tower. The ship is in the Singel, which is a circling canal around the historical part of Leiden city. It's only a 5 minute walk to the shopping street but 20 minutes to the railway-station, although there's a bus stop nearby. You can also park your car on de Zijlsingel (road). In the weekend there's free public parking 400m away. The supermarket is in the vicinity and it's not difficult to find a bike rental. In the surrounding area of Leiden there are windmills and the beach is 7 km away. Leiden itself has a great Saturday market and many historical buildings and museums. The old city with the canals is charming.
