In 2020, we bought the authentic farmhouse and completely rebuilt it so that we can offer our guests beautifully restored accommodation with modern appliances and luxury box springs, the view over the hills and the quiet area in the middle of beautiful nature. We will give you a warm welcome, receive you personally and give you a tour and extensive explanation.

Wake up to the most beautiful view in South Limburg. From your own terrace, you can look straight out over the Geul Valley. You’ll be staying in a charming square-shaped farmhouse dating from 1883, right in the heart of the quiet area near the mountain village of Vijlen, with 1 hectare of private garden, luxury box-spring beds where guests say they sleep better than at home, and a kitchen where absolutely nothing is missing. De Oogappel is a spacious holiday flat for six people, ideal for families and friends as a place to get together, and a perfect base for walking, cycling and enjoyable day trips in the hills and the border region. The flat offers unobstructed views of the stunning Limburg countryside as well as a view of the cosy courtyard of the Hoeve. The flat features a dining room and sitting room, a private kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, two fridges, an oven, an induction hob, a microwave and a full range of kitchen utensils. The bathrooms are finished in beige marble and feature a convenient walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet. The bedrooms are furnished with comfortable box-spring beds with mattress toppers, creating a cosy atmosphere with authentic décor.

The farmhouse, of which the flat forms part, is situated just outside the mountain village of Vijlen, surrounded by nature. From the flat, you can walk or mountain bike straight into the Vijlenerbos, or explore the many cycle route junctions in the hilly countryside by bike. It’s a 15-minute journey from the accommodation to Aachen, Gulpen or the tri-border area, and 25 minutes to Maastricht. A guided tour or wine tasting at our neighbour, the St. Martinus wine estate, is definitely not to be missed whilst you’re staying with us. And in the evening, you can unwind with a bottle of wine or one of the many speciality beers that we keep chilled to the perfect temperature for our guests.
