In the middle of the Wadden area, this former Reformed church has been converted into a recreational residence. Although the space has been modernized, all the characteristic elements have been preserved. From the beautiful beam constructions of the roof to the Art Deco stained glass windows. In addition, there are various works of art to admire in the hall. Within 20 minutes, you are in Leeuwarden or on the boat to Ameland. From the nearby dike, you can see Terschelling and Ameland. The space We have created a space for two people in the middle of the church hall. This spacious room with a double bed overlooks the organ. In this room, there is also a bathroom, complete with shower and toilet. With the infrared heat panels on the ceiling that also provide lighting, it is also pleasant to stay in winter. In the church hall, there is a long dining table and a large kitchen block with all the necessities to prepare something delicious. With the TV on the pulpit (85 inch), you can enjoy a real home cinema from the lovely sofa. You can also use the sound system to listen to your favorite music or, of course, dance, because what do you care? You have the whole place to yourself. Furthermore, you can walk directly from the church hall into the garden, where a private sitting area is available, allowing you to relax in the hammock. If you prefer to seek a little more action, the air hockey table is ready for use. In the second bedroom, there is a sofa bed that offers space for two more people (who must love each other very much). The office is also free to use and comes with fast internet. Please note! In winter / when the wind is strong, it can be cold in the church! We have heating options and will do everything we can to make you as comfortable as possible, but it remains a large space. Electric floor heating and infrared heating above the sofa are available to be used for a fee. Sufficient heating is available in the bedrooms/bathrooms and can be used for free.

It is important to note that Oude Bildtzijl does not have a supermarket. We therefore recommend that you do your shopping before your stay. This can be done in both Stiens and St. Annaparochie, both 10 minutes away by car. Within a 5-minute walking distance from the church, you will find the restaurant Wad Noflik, where you can have lunch, and the restaurant Het Grauwe Paard for dinner and drinks.
