Our campsite was first founded by a little boy who had heard his father and older brothers talking about starting up a campsite. While they were gone fishing, he simply put up a sign that said "camping" and charged the first customers for parking their car on our lot. Later, in the 60s, the first cabins were built. They were one room, with 2-3 beds and a cooking plate. We still have these on our lot, but have since then updated our campsite and offer a range of modern, bigger cabins with another level of comfort. The men in our family have always had a great interest in trees and plants, which is visible in the roses, trees and flowers everywhere on our campsite.

Fauske is a little, quite typical North-Norwegian town with a lot of passing traffic. In recent years, a nice path along the harbour has been built. Perfect for an easy stroll and ice cream in good weather. Fauske is famous for its marble, and also for the old mining community in Sulitjelma. There is a museum in Sulitjelma now, where you get to try the old mining trains and have a look into the huge mining system that it is. Close to the campsite you can enjoy fishing, often with good luck. Directly from our campsite you can also go hiking on a nearby mountain that will give you a view of the city and the fjord between it and us. "Møsbrømlefse" is a local food speciality that can be bought at the café at the train station. In summertime, you can also visit the old farm Sjønstå, a little drive away. The oldest building is from the 1600s, and goats are running around. A nice activity for families.
