We are situated right by the sea (fjord), with picturesque surroundings in the middle of the historic fishing port of Bakkasund in Austevoll. Here you can find peace and quiet, and enjoy the view on the balcony, spend an active day at sea or take an excursion into the beautiful nature of the western coast. Martha's Rorbu is on two floors with an attic. The ground floor has an entrance hall, bathroom/laundry room and living room with a large dining table, a simple kitchen and the ability to open the sliding door to the pier at the front. On the first floor there is a living room with an open kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with 2 bunks. From the living room you have direct access to a balcony where you can enjoy the morning sun. From the living room, a staircase leads to the attic with an office table and a bedroom with two single beds. We are registered with the Norwegian Fisheries Directorate (Fiskeridirektoratet) as a tourist fishery.

Boat rental: The Öien 620F, with 50 HP engine, is for rent for NOK 6.000 per week or NOK 1.200 per day. The boat is registered for up to 8 people (max. 6 anglers) A boating license is required to use these boats if you were born on January 1st, 1980 or later. Life jackets are included in the rental price. Additional expenses: Washing out costs NOK 1,200 Bed linen and towels rental, NOK 300 per person Getting there Bakkasund is located in the northwestern part of Austevoll, about 15 minutes from the ferry quay in Hufthamar, where the ferry from Krokeide, Bergen calls at. The journey via E39 Sandvikvåg - Husavik takes around 35 minutes.

Martha's Rorbu is centrally located in Bakkasund, 20 meters from the bus stop and 200 meters from the Joker grocery store and the marina. Fuel is sold here, and bicycles are rented out. You can reach Storebö by car in 10 minutes. Storebö has grocery stores, restaurants, a pharmacy and a indoor swimming pool. Bekkjarvik is another 20 minutes away and has a shopping center, pharmacy and liquor store. Here is also Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri, which can offer gourmet food, mostly made from local produce. The chef is Örjan Johannessen (Gold medal Bocuse d'Or 2015). Austevoll has a beautiful nature with an Eldorado of islands that can be explored both on land and by boat. The Nordsjölöypa leads through the municipality with several adapted hiking trails. Sveholmen beach is 2 km from Marthas Rorbu. A little gem with a sandy beach adapted for children and barbecue facilities. If you want to feel the forces of the ocean, a trip to Skansen is recommended in bad weather.
