One of 7,481 reviews:
"Such beautiful streets with unique corners, angles, and spaces we don't find in America. We spent two days there touring sites in one small area and could have spent several more just walking the multicolored stone streets of quaint shops. I recommend the hike down from the funicular. Though steep, it yields a peek into the active lives of locals and provides an interesting stroll through residential neighborhoods near the bottom. Look for the hidden gnome town. Our 11 year old son loved the ropes course and berry picking on the summit."

"My adult daughters and I were visiting Norway and planned to drive from Bergen to Alesund. We chose the Loen because it was about half way between each city. We spent two nights at the Loen. The beds were comfortable. Food was very good considering my kids are vegetarian. Desert table was amazing. Spa area was lovely, relaxing and we spent a few hours just lounging in the waters - showere, sauna, steam, cold plunge, whirlpool etc. Pools were also fun. We also went hiking in the area. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area."

"Flam is wonderful! The area is picturesque and there are many nearby activities. We loved the scenic train ride, biking from Myrdal to Flam and the boating through the fjords. If you are staying in Flam, I would recommend checking the cruise ship schedule when deciding when to do activities-it gets busy. We made sure to book our activities in advance and we looked around the town when a cruise ship was not docked."

"We had booked the Norway in a Nutshell route from Oslo to Bergen and our friends had recommended we break up the journey and stay the night in Gudvangen and I am so glad we did! It was the most beautiful town right in the heart of a fjord - the views were breathtaking and as not many people stayed the night like we did, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We didn't stay long enough to participate in any of the activities offered the next morning (kayaking, hiking or a visit to the viking museum) but I don't think you need to stay any longer than two nights. I highly recommend that you stay at least one night in Gudvangen if you are travelling through it"

Everything was perfect at this campsite. The location was great - not far from towns while you can run into spectacular views along the road from Olden to the campsite at a random morning! The cabin we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. It was equipped with a kitchen as well as a patio. The staff was very kind and helpful. There were plenty of things to do at the campsite. It was a great pleasure to stay there even for the whole day. We wish to stay there again sometime in the future.

This is a beautiful city, with many options.

This is a beautiful city, with many options. It's not too big, not too small. We enjoyed the Brygge, especially the small alleys that led to shops and restaurants away from the bigger storefronts. We also enjoyed going up the funicular and walking through the troll park, and seeing the view of Bergen below us. And had a wonderful fjord tour -- spur of the moment-- with a very informative tour guide. But the best was that we were there during the World Cup, with Norway playing. The city went wild and we got to 'row' with the best of them!

There is enough interesting for a tourist.

There is enough interesting for a tourist. The lake is a pearl, to get around it, you need to use the bridge, and it is located in such a way that the length around the lake is 14 km. But the nature around is beautiful. The city center has many cafes, different nationalities, but the Norwegian one is quite cozy. The ancient stavkirk is one of the few that have real ancient value.

Aurland was incredibly beautiful.

Aurland was incredibly beautiful. We drove down from the mountains and visited the Stegastein Viewpoint on our way to Aurland. We spent some time doing activities based in Flåm (train to Mýrdal, zipline and bike tour, electric Naeryfjord cruise), but were happy to be sleeping in Aurland where it was quiet and peaceful. There's a grocery store, docks, a beautiful church and churchyard, a few restaurants and an amazing bakery. The one day there was a cruise ship in port, we happened to be busy in Flåm so we didn't see what the town was like on a port day.

Flaam train, well worth the stop. Close-by Viking Valley (Gudvangen) was interesting, good, worth the trip, but not a "must see" The overall scenery: incredible. The accommodations in flaam is limited and during tourist season, the cost is very high. There are cheaper accommodations within short driving distance.

This town is in a sunnier part, I couldn't get to Borgund stavkirke because there were no buses back on Sunday and there was no place to stay "for all money of the world" overnight and it was raining. So I bought a ticket and moved to Sogndal, and it solved all my problems, refreshed, built up, relieved my fatigue and inspired. It's in a valley, surrounded by beautiful mountain nature, clean, quiet and with friendly people.

We stayed just outside of Stryn town, about 8 minutes drive.

We stayed just outside of Stryn town, about 8 minutes drive. The town is amazing little idyllic location with few shops, restaurant and of course, amazing mountains surrounding it. You can see these majestic mountains, the river that flows through the town and on occasions, even some paragliders! Food variety is good due to multiple restaurants. We were even surprised to find more than one Halal food restaurants. Stryn has a charm of its own and is ideal for excursions to other nearby great locations such as Loen, Olden, Geiranger, etc. Therefore, we set our base near Stryn and visited all aforementioned destinations. The roads to get around from Stryn are all main roads of Norway, so there wasn't any issues. If you plan, you can do a lot of activities around Stryn, unfortunately our stay was short this time but we did manage a lot. Would definitely visit Stryn again and recommend it highly to any visitors thinking of going there.

Vickinghaug is set amongst incredible Norwegian fjord...

Vickinghaug is set amongst incredible Norwegian fjord scenary. It has the other point of interest in that there is a, no longer functioning in its original capacity , factory in the middle of the Fjord. Because it poses no environmental problems any longer. This factory gives the Fjord an interesting historical relevance. The proprietors are obviously always improving the function of the accomodation to suit lots of different styles of travellers. We stayed in a three bedroom, self catering apartment with views on both sides. We had a drink in the evening looking over the lake and the waterfall and dinner at night looking over the Fjord. The walks in the area are popular because they are so full of natural beauty and thus attract many hikers and campers . The town felt slightly off piste from the over used tourist pathways which suited us perfectly.
