This was our second stay, and we knew what to expect; a comfortable bed, sounds from neighboring rooms and shared bathrooms. New to us this year was the home baked bread and buns for breakfast: delicious! Definitely something to come back for!...

Nice old house with rooms and shared bathroom amenities, everything is clean and nice. Staying has a vibe of guest visit to your distant relatives :). You can visit Åsand Beach on the other side of the mountain - highly recommended ride through...

Location was beautiful and my attic room was perfect. Very comfortable stay and a friendly, welcoming host. The house was pretty full and was still quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay again and recommend for others.

This is a beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean older home which sits off the main road on a hill overlooking the lake. The bed was comfortable and the shared bathroom was just around the corner so although not in the room, very convenient to...

We only stayed for one night and that night we were the only guests. So everything was amazing! The villa is cozy and quiet, nicely sitting on a hill that has an amazing view of the lake. Room was tidy and comfy, modern bathroom.

Cool old 1920s guest house, located beautifully by the lake. Rooms do not have separate bathrooms, but that is what you get with the original layout still intact. A is a very welcoming and professional hostess.

Beautifully restored and decorated with a lot of space for relaxing. Within 25km of the Oslo airport so a perfect place for our last night. Also think it would be a great place to de-jet lag after a long haul flight. Clear distinction between...

Hi! I was born in 1974 and have three grown up childeren All my life I have been interessted in practical work and DIY. After renovating a small farm before this house I got a good handy experience. I also run a agricultural shop, built from start and learned a quite few lessons about business. I really love a challenge, that is what this Villa really could offer. I live here myself as well and is ready anytime to fix somthing if needed or help all my kind guests. For future there is of course many plans and oppertuneties for this place, next mission is a white marble fontain in the garden and general garden work to make the surroundings even more beutiful. And how do I get the time? Well, this is my great hobby so a little work evry day, weekends and holidays in use gives progress. And to relax and clear my mind - I take a little trip at my pink and purple Harley motorsycle 😊

Property info

Villa Hasselbakken was built in 1924 by Axel Bjørnstad who is from this area. He designed and built several building in Norway. There was two sisters who owned and run this guesthouse for many years. It has been a lot of different kinds of retreetments and business after the sisters sold the house through the times. At one time it also lived a priest here. Lots of good energies in this house! I bought the house in october 2020, it was strongly in need to get a lot of love and care, after not been taken special care over a decade. The house spoke directly to my hart and love at first sight. After two years of renovating the house is now back to it's orgin mission as guest house. With mix of moder and old and charmimg style. As this house is over 100 years now it's not sound proof- but a living guesthouse where you can feel relaxed, homely and like a big family in great surroundings.

Neighborhood info

The neighbourhood is a quiet area, with historical Iron mines,, smaragd and gold mines. Lovly nature and a great lake, Mjøsa- where the old steam boat sailes in summer season "Skibladner". There is a very nice bading place 3 km north of Hasselbakken, with barbeque options and marked hikes as well.
