Very nice and pleasant city, full of greenery. Nice and friendly people, who cannot make proper coffee though :-). Everyone speaks excellent English. Plenty of museums and galleries to see. Everything in reachable distance, very well working public transport, relatively cheap (34 EUR for one week ticket for Zone 1 = city center, and even ferries to islands). Great weather - during the whole stay there was 30 degrees, and plenty of sun :-) Quite expensive food, plenty of groceries and great bakeries. Very pleasant promenades alongside the seaside.

The hotel shuttle bus serviced a number of hotels and cost 80Kr, about $12Aud, very cheap by Norway standards. We just needed somewhere to stay between flights and this was convenient and good value for money.

Outside of the skiing season there is always accomodation available and Geilo offers all the facilities and amenities needed for a spring, summer or autumn trip. Most importantly it is very central for visiting the fjords, the mountains, the hardanger vidda, some beautiful farming valleys, multidudinous waterfalls, etc. etc. There is some fabulous walking/hiking in the vicinity. The road infrastructure is excellent (beware road closures in winter) and you can even get there from either Bergen or Oslo by train. You can do the famous Norway in a Nutshell tour from Geilo starting and finishing by train, although this summer because of the current timings of the fjord portion of the tour, it is not possible to complete it in a day and get back to Geilo.

Lovely area, very pretty with great river swimming spot and climbing trail. Most other things to do need a car though, which is not what their tourist info suggests. They say they have regular shuttle buses from Gol station to Hemsedal in summer and ski season but this definitely isn't the case in summer meaning we had to get a £££ taxi there or wait 3.5 hours for a bus

Spiralen is a must, even if you need a taxi - great views from the top after a drive through a feat of engineering. Walks along the river are very pleasant and a couple of museums are worth visiting, especially on Saturday when they are free entry ! Excellent transport links to other parts of South East Norway and Oslo

This was my first time in Fredrikstad and my stay was for business travel. The area is friendly, has modern charm, and had plenty of shops and restaurants to explore. I hope to return again and stay longer on a personal schedule with my wife to enjoy more of the area.

Halden is a magical hidden gem in Norway. It has the best of all worlds. Ancient ruins, castle walls, cobblestone streets, canals, mountains, forests and wildflowers the size of skyscrapers! Not to mention the raggar culture! Halden... a hidden gem

For years I've been hearing that Oslo is too boring a place to visit. Now I can speak from my experience and say that it is not quite true. Yes, the area close to the train station may overwhelm you with noise and a lot of construction going on but the further away you move, the more interesting things you notice. I loved making these discoveries here and there while walking. For example, I've read about Damstredet somewhere, then completely forgot about it, and then discovered it by chance. In general, the city vibe is quite welcoming. If you're a fan of museums, there are a few to visit. There is also a botanical garden. Various Oslofjord cruises are plenty, and my opinion is to probably go with the the cheapest one. I've also tried a couple of restaurants (rated 4+) and the food and drinks were great, although expensive.

Mini bar was stocked with water, snacks and liquor. I was able to store an extra bag while I made a short trip. Helpful staff and willing to please. Loved the quick access from the airport terminal.

Geilo is stunning!! Brilliant ski resort to take our kids for their first ski trip. Pistes were excellent, good selection of greens, blues and reds. Staff were friendly, ski instructors fantastic! Definitely recommended. The train journey in was a bonus!
