Tucked away beneath Mount Hutt, our Doubletree guesthouse is the perfect country escape. The stand-alone one bedroom space includes a cosy lounge, bathroom, and fully equipped kitchenette, offering privacy and comfort with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Wake up to sweeping mountain views, explore the nearby walking tracks, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of our working farm. Just a short drive from Methven, Doubletree is the ideal base for skiing at Mt Hutt, fishing, hiking, or unwinding in nature.
We’re Clint and Harriet, along with our two boys Fred (4) and Hugh (1), and our friendly cocker spaniel Douglas. Life at Doubletree is always full with farming, family, and welcoming guests to our cottage. The boys love getting involved on the farm, while we enjoy sharing the beauty and tranquillity of this place with others. Hosting gives us the chance to connect with people from all over the world and offer a glimpse into our family life here in New Zealand. Having both travelled extensively, we’ve loved meeting others through Airbnb and look forward to making your stay a memorable one.
We’re located in Staveley, just 15 minutes from Methven, giving you the best of both worlds – close to the village while surrounded by nature. Guests love exploring the local walking tracks, with Sharplin Falls being a favourite for its forested trails and waterfall views. In winter, the Staveley ice-skating rink is a unique highlight, offering a classic alpine experience. From here you can enjoy everything Methven has to offer, from the slopes of Mt Hutt to the hot pools and local cafes, before returning to the peace and quiet of the countryside.
