Catlins Lake Sanctuary is set in native trees and is totally private. The bird life is abundant and the scenery is wonderful with a lake and estuary view. It is on an elevated sheltered site right next to and above the water. The fishing opportunities are at the edge of the property.

Our family love the area for holidaying because of the fishing opportunities and the bush walks and the selection of out door activities.

Owaka, the little nearby village has some facilities including a cafe, restaurant and a hotel. It has a well stocked grocery store and an outstanding Museum which showcases the fauna and flora and the geographical features and history of the area. It has a lovely children's playground and some art & craft shops.
