The busy Grovetown Hotel to wet your whistle ( 5 min walk) a wonderful pub and surroundings for locals and visitors. No busy traffic or a bustling town of round-a-bouts, give-way signs or big truckers. The Grovetown Lagoon is just 5 minutes up the road and there are bench seats to sit and admire the many birds that come to the sanctuary to rest and feed and breed. The Lagoon opened up the May 2019 and many cyclists and walkers enjoy the 1hr trek around the Lagoon finishing up at the Wairau River. The Grovetown Hotel is at the end of Street offering a restaurant and is very popular with the locals. A bustling fire place in the winter and a wonderful outside area with a water wheel and tables and chairs on those hot summer days with a beer or a glass of wine. Couples in particular love the location and rate it 8.5. There are many wineries around the area and I have brochures to browse through, either book a wine tour or simply do the wine trail yourself in your car from my wine trail maps. Visit the Chocolate Factory or Omaka Knights in the sky Peter Jackson WW11 war planes just to name a few of the attractions here in Blenheim. Picton is aq 20 minute drive and offers many restaurants, cafes and shops along side the beach of the Picton foreshore.
