Divine breakfast’s .All food is homegrown or locally sourced. Your hosts Trev and Lynne provide a personalized service to compliment your stay. A lifetime of local knowledge will ensure your visit to Southern South Island will be a memorable experience. Folster Gardens is committed to operating a superior bed and breakfast accommodation within tranquil natural surroundings in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. We both work in the conservation field and are passionate about the environment. Trevor is a fifth-generation Southlander and he’s glad to talk about the region's history to those who are interested. Trev sculpts and is passionate about old motorbikes. Lynne is a passionate crafter working with many different crafts when she's not gardening.
Invercargill is in an enviable position, located within easy driving distance to all the southern centres. In just 2 ½ hours you can be in Dunedin or Queenstown, or in only 2 hours in Te Anau. It takes only 1 hour to reach the Catlin's, forty minutes to Riverton and half an hour to Bluff. Stewart Island is easily reached by ferry (1 hour from Bluff) or plane (20 minutes from Invercargill). Invercargill is updating itself with a large central mall and several great eateries. Invercargill has the largest Transport and Motorbike Museums in New Zealand well worth a visit.
