If you want to stay in a place that is sunny, idyllic and private yet is still close to town then look no further. We have great views over Picton and beyond that the Queen Charlotte Sound. Our garden is a paradise for native birds and fauna, we also have 3 beautiful walking tracks just 200 meters away. We have an extensive foraging garden, with all sorts of fruit and vegetables available for our guests to enjoy. We are continuing to develop our property with Karaka Cottage being the first of 3 cottages planned. Each cottage is completely self contained and private, with there own spa pool overlooking Picton Township. We have created very luxurious and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful natural environment ;-)
We have both grown up in the Marlborough region and we enjoy our life here, we love to see other people happy too. We have varied interests, we both play a lot of tennis, we enjoy walking and biking. We are really friendly, outgoing hosts we respect our guests privacy, but at the same time we are here to help you get the most from your holiday. We are more than happy to direct you to the good spots weather that be fishing, walking, biking , wine tours or anything else you may love to do during your stay in Marlborough.
Garden View Cottages in placed in a unique location. We overlook the railway line but there aren't many trains at all, we have no road noise and no close neighbours. So it is 99.9% of the time very quiet , the train and in particular the Marlborough flyer steam train is very impressive to watch go past. We are surrounded by native trees and these attract many native bird species including the Bell Bird, Tui, Fantail,Kereru, Native Falcon, Finches and Wekas. Within 5 minutes walk you can find 3 awesome bush walks..............Within 10 minutes walk you can find the local tavern, ( The Crow Tavern)................Within 20 minutes walk you can find the township of Picton , with the Interisland ferries ,cafes, shops , restaurants/bars and more walks and activities around the Marlborough sounds..................Within 20 km you are in the center of Marlborough's Famous Wine District and all that has to offer with tours , tastings and fantastic local food.
