The house has views over New Plymouth and the coast as well as Mt Taranaki. My house sits on 8.5 acres of land and is 550m above sea level. 5 acres of the property is QE2 world heritage, pristine rain forest with Te Henui stream running through it and has awesome nature walks on and around the property.
I am retired and live alone, recently moved here from Sydney. I generally live upstairs so guests can enjoy privacy and have their own private living area on the ground floor.
The Pouakai track starts 500m up the road and takes hikers past the Pouakai and Holly huts and ends at the North Egmont visitor centre. This is one of the most popular tracks the mountain offers. I provide a free pickup or drop off service to the visitor centre for anybody that wants to do the hike.
