We are Jan and John Strachan, born and bred Southlanders and have owned this property for over 20 years. During this time there has been a lot of redecorating and refurbishing which we continue to do as necessary. We love meeting the wide range of people we have to stay, from overnighters to those that stay a few days and learn of their amazing adventures while visiting the south.

Property info

A quiet tree-lined location for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We are located just above the centre of town and very handy to all amenities. This is the perfect stop over on your way to Stewart Island, the Catlins or Fiordland. You may like to take an extra day or two to explore Invercargill and the surrounds. We offer very spacious apartments with good heating and fully equipped kitchens in most apartments. Smart TVs in all apartments and Free WiFi. Our guests have access to free laundry facilities, free on-site parking (mostly all undercover parking) and free luggage storage all provided. Rental Cars - We now have 2 vehicles for hire at very reasonable rates. T & C apply. If you would like to hire one of our vehicles while in Invercargill please contact us.

Neighborhood info

Queens Park is just around the corner (5mins walk) where there is something for everyone. The 4km fitness track winds its way around the mature trees and includes 20 exercise stations. The animal park, aviary and children’s playground is a popular place to explore. Not to mention the gardens, 81ha in total, so take some time to enjoy! Transport World is approx 10 minutes drive from Golden Leaf, showcasing more than 300 vehicles and the Motorcycle Mecca just 10 minutes walk. The E Hayes Motorworks Collection has over 100 individual items and unique displays, including Burt Munro’s Authentic, Original and Legendry 1920- Indian Scout…and so much more! Golden Leaf is located 5-10 minutes drive to Southland Stadium and the Veladrome. Splash Palace is also only a few minutes away. The nearest airport is 1km from Golden Leaf Apartments.
