A newly renovated boutique/modern cottage with a light and airy feel, large deck, quality beds, Starlink internet, perfectly located to explore the rural Far North of New Zealand, and close to the local shop and cafes. Green Turtle Cottage is 2 min from Houhora Heads Harbor, 10 min west to 90 Mile Beach, 15 min to not-to-be-missed pristine east coast beaches, and 40 min to Cape Reinga @greenturtlecottage. Green Turtle Cottage is a charming newly renovated 100 year old cottage with a spacious, light, and airy feel. Out the door is a lovely walk to the harbor (40 minutes there and back). There are two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a small workspace, and open living room, dining area, and kitchen with veranda doors that open out to a large deck. The first bedroom has a queen bed with mattress by Innature, a New Zealand brand designed for organic/natural support and comfort, and an attached bathroom. Most bedding is 100% cotton in both bedrooms. The second bedroom is larger with a King bed, including an Innature topper, for support and comfort. There are closets and hanging space in both rooms. On the exterior deck we currently have an outdoor dining table, large picnic table, hammock, BBQ, bench, shade sail, and umbrella. Around the cottage is open land, some avocado trees, and a few large palms. There is plenty of room for parking cars and boats. Views of the open land around the house, beautiful sunsets on the deck, and the most amazing starry sky. Your co-hosts live on the next door property, 150 meters away and hidden from view. We’ll greet you if we’re here or there’s a lockbox for check-in if we’re not. You have access to the house, 1 acre of land, private driveway, fishing station, avocado trees, and an empty two car garage. There’s also plenty of space around the house for cars and boats. Note: there’s a large half-built catamaran boat at the very back of the property, which your host is building! Keep off for your safety please.
