Each PurePod is designed to provide a unique experience of total privacy, nature immersion, and sustainable luxury, allowing guests to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with the natural world.
Built almost entirely from glass, including the walls, roof, and floor, PurePods create a feeling of being fully surrounded by nature while enjoying the comfort of a warm, beautifully designed cabin. Guests can fall asleep beneath star-filled skies, wake to sweeping landscapes, and experience New Zealand’s native birdlife and changing weather from the comfort of their private retreat.
Sustainability sits at the heart of the PurePods philosophy. Each cabin is completely off-grid, powered by solar energy and designed to minimise environmental impact while maintaining modern comfort. PurePods partners with landowners who share a commitment to conservation, helping restore native bush, protect biodiversity, and preserve the natural beauty of the surrounding land.
Whether perched above coastal cliffs, hidden within native forest, or overlooking vineyards and mountain ranges, every PurePod offers a private escape where guests can slow down, breathe deeply, and experience the magic of pure New Zealand nature.

Kokomea PurePod is a secluded, off-grid glass cabin designed for privacy and immersion in its coastal surroundings. Set along the Kāpiti Coast, this adults-only retreat offers a peaceful escape where guests can unwind while taking in expansive views from a thoughtfully designed glass space. Its low-impact design combines sustainability with modern comfort, all within easy reach of Wellington.
Positioned on working farmland above the coast, the cabin looks out toward Kāpiti Island, framed by olive trees and native vegetation. The setting creates a quiet hillside sanctuary, filled with birdsong and fresh coastal air. The short walk in passes through “The Gully,” a regenerating bush corridor with a spring-fed stream, home to tūī, kererū, and fantails.
As night falls, the clear coastal skies offer ideal stargazing conditions. With no neighbouring accommodation nearby, it’s a tranquil retreat for couples seeking space, stillness, and sweeping ocean views.
Located ~1 hour north of Wellington along the Kāpiti Coast. Guests drive via rural roads to a parking area, then walk 450 m (5–10 minutes) through a regenerating gully to the pod. Detailed arrival instructions are provided; arriving before dark is recommended.
Neighborhood info
Take the opportunity to book a tour with one of the welcoming farmers who care for the land, and enjoy a stroll through the stunning regenerating gully that surrounds Kokomea PurePod. Wander down to the wetland conservation project, where you might spot tūī, pīwakawaka, and other native birds flitting through the trees and going about their day in this peaceful sanctuary.
If you are able to tear yourself away from the luxurious comforts of Kokomea PurePod, there’s so much to enjoy on the Kāpiti Coast, such as exploring the 40km of west coast beaches, visiting Kāpiti Island, horse riding, cycling, hiking, or trying the local artisan food and beverages produced in the region.
Of course, if such exploration is not quite what you desire, stretch out on the deck, enjoy a glass of wine and embrace the complete absence of people and traffic.
