Booked the Family Suite, and the staff were very kind and considerate confirming bed preferences, parking, and offering a cot for our son. Looking at the photos, we thought the room would be smaller, but it turned out perfect. The hotel is clean, well equipped, and in a very convenient location and even has a supermarket within walking distance. You may hear some sirens since it’s across from a major hospital, but once the door is closed it’s totally manageable. Our son even loved seeing a rescue helicopter up close!

We loved this stay. Everything from the room size in the Garden Suite, the natural lighting, the gorgeous bathroom and decor, the bed was comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and approachable. We ate in the bistro downstairs on several occasions and found the hotel to be in the most central location. Would absolutely stay again and refer to others. The roses blooming in the courtyard were just stunning!

I had a lovely stay at the Sojourn Apartment Hotel in Ghuznee Street, Wellington. The team at Sojourn were absolutely brilliant, and I was made to feel very welcome right from the first introductions. The apartment had a very comfortable bed, and all of the essential amenities were provided in the room. A laundry-room was also available which could be used by guests if desired. The level of cleanliness was very high, and the friendly reception team made my two nights stay really enjoyable I would recommend the Sojourn Apartment Hotel to any traveller wishing to visit Wellington, and who wants great accommodation in the centre of the city. We live a short distance out of Wellington but decided to...

We live a short distance out of Wellington but decided to have a couple of nights in Wellington to catchup with the changes. If you want to experience outer Wellington, take Bus Number 23 and this will take you up past Newtown, the Zoo and over the Hills to Houghton Bay, taking in the views of Lyall Bay and the Airport. then hop on Bus No. 29 and this will take you up through Newtown, Southgate, Island Bay, Owhiro Bay and Brooklyn before returning to the City. This bus route also has stunning views. Finally take Bus No. 24 - Miramar Heights. This bus will take you around Oriental Bay, Evans Bay, up Maupuia and Miramar Heights, taking in great views of Wellington Harbour, and past the old prison, back down to Miramar, where you can get off, have a cuppa or lunch then take another bus back to the city, It was a fantastic way to see some of Wellington. If you are lucky some of the buses are double decker and the views are amazing. We got on the buses at Courtenay Place, but you can get on them from lower Lambton Quay if you prefer. There is a bus stop across the road from the Quest where we stayed at 256 Lambton Quay where hop on as well.

Queensgate Mall is a great place to visit if you want access...

Queensgate Mall is a great place to visit if you want access to a wide range of shops and a good food court. Public transport throughout the Greater Wellington region is excellent, and if you plan on using multiple buses and trains during your stay, purchasing a day pass can be a cost-effective option. As someone who previously lived in Lower Hutt, I highly recommend visiting Petone. It has a fantastic selection of shops, cafés, and restaurants, and Petone Beach is only a short distance away. The Dowse Art Museum and the gardens beside the Lower Hutt Library are also well worth a visit, with a lovely playground for children. For families, Avalon Park is a must-see. It features an excellent playground and a miniature railway, although it's worth checking operating hours before your visit. One of the advantages of staying in Lower Hutt is that it provides a more affordable alternative to Wellington while still offering plenty of family-friendly activities. The train service makes travelling into Wellington quick and convenient. If you enjoy bush walks, riverside scenery, or spending time outdoors, there are many options throughout the Hutt Valley. If you have access to a car, I also recommend visiting Staglands Wildlife Reserve in Upper Hutt. It's a fantastic family day out, with plenty of animals to see and lots of space for children to explore, play, and enjoy nature.

I would recommend the Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club to all visitors. The staff were friendly and accommodating which is nice when its your first visit to Upper Hutt. The spacious outdoor 'vaping' area had a wall heater at the table I chose to sit at. The Arcadia restaurant situated indoors provides a meal for all tastes and the food is yummy! The streets are full of bakeries, takeaways and restaurants to suit all palates in the main town. My daughters shopped at PaknSave for our groceries. Overall, its a pleasant area, tidy and lots of trees.

Featherston has been called the poor cousin of the Wairarapa compared to Greytown. It is less bustling but there are interesting antique and book shops, a great Saturday produce market and the destination Royal Hotel. It is a town doing its best to improve. Pity about the eyesore on the main street - a decaying building badly in need of repair or removal.
