Queensgate Mall is a great place to visit if you want access...

Queensgate Mall is a great place to visit if you want access to a wide range of shops and a good food court. Public transport throughout the Greater Wellington region is excellent, and if you plan on using multiple buses and trains during your stay, purchasing a day pass can be a cost-effective option. As someone who previously lived in Lower Hutt, I highly recommend visiting Petone. It has a fantastic selection of shops, cafés, and restaurants, and Petone Beach is only a short distance away. The Dowse Art Museum and the gardens beside the Lower Hutt Library are also well worth a visit, with a lovely playground for children. For families, Avalon Park is a must-see. It features an excellent playground and a miniature railway, although it's worth checking operating hours before your visit. One of the advantages of staying in Lower Hutt is that it provides a more affordable alternative to Wellington while still offering plenty of family-friendly activities. The train service makes travelling into Wellington quick and convenient. If you enjoy bush walks, riverside scenery, or spending time outdoors, there are many options throughout the Hutt Valley. If you have access to a car, I also recommend visiting Staglands Wildlife Reserve in Upper Hutt. It's a fantastic family day out, with plenty of animals to see and lots of space for children to explore, play, and enjoy nature.

Normally stay in Wellington CBD.

Normally stay in Wellington CBD. Enjoyed looking at the city from another view point. Lots to see and do - the board walk and local walks, Petone Settlers Museum - good exhibits, not far from Lower Hutt to see the Dowse and less than 20 mins to CBD. Nice to drive around to see Eastbourne and get a sense of the scale of the harbour. Fabulous views.

The apartment is very close to Jackson Street, Petone with all the benefits of that location. Lower Hutt is just a short trip away. The parking wasn't ideal. Having to hunt around for a parking space could be a bit annoying.

Lower Hutt has many and varied locations and experiences, Eastbourne and Petone have a distinctive feel. Walking and riding is very well catered for and there is no shortage of places to get food. The new cyc;leway to Wellington will be completed soon and offer a wonderful gateway to the city.

Our king suite was spacious, elegant and very impressive offering impressive amenities. The bed was super comfortable and the decor interior was stylish, which resonated throughout the hotel. Outstandingly, the location of The Sebel was central to everything we hoped to need in amongst shops, restaurants, cafes and much more. If weather was pleasant and less windy, you could enjoy river front walking and venturing out to enjoy the sights and sounds of Lower Hutt in a leisurely fashion.

We loved how the whole inside is new with a cute little sun deck out back. The house is so well appointed, and much thought has gone into every little detail. We appreciated the comforts. The queen size bed is super comfortable with lovely linens and nice pillows. Location is very central, across from the hospital. We felt secure and cozy. We’d love to stay again soon on our next trip to Wellington.
