Korimako PurePod is a secluded, off-grid glass cabin designed for privacy and immersion in the surrounding landscape. Located in Hurunui, North Canterbury, this adults-only retreat offers a peaceful escape, with sweeping views across native bush, rolling farmland, and the coast from its thoughtfully designed glass space. Its low-impact design combines sustainability with modern comfort.
Set within native bush in Greta Valley, the cabin looks out toward the bay and Motunau Island, with Banks Peninsula visible on clear days. The area is alive with birdsong, including bellbirds (korimako), fantails, and rifleman. Positioned on a historic sheep farm where farmland meets coastal forest, it offers both seclusion and a strong connection to the region’s natural character.
As night falls, the clear North Canterbury skies provide ideal stargazing conditions. With no neighbouring accommodation nearby, it’s a tranquil retreat for couples seeking stillness, space, and expansive coastal views.
Located ~90 minutes north of Christchurch in Greta Valley. Guests drive via rural roads to parking, then walk 450 m (10 minutes) through native bush and gently uphill to the pod. Birdsong accompanies the walk before opening to coastal views. Detailed instructions are provided; arriving before dark is recommended.

For those who love biking, there’s an off-road mountain bike loop that stretches 8 km, offering stunning views towards the Hurunui River mouth and the Pegasus Bay coastline. With some steep gradients for an extra thrill, you can complete the loop in about 1.5 hours with an average fitness level. If you don’t have your own bike, don’t worry, you can hire electric mountain bikes from the farmer.
