It was expansive with three separate bedrooms, laundry room, large open kitchen/dining/lounge, and a pacman machine! The kitchen was beautifully appointed for all cooking needs. The lounge and dining area was spacious and very nicely laid out. The property was immaculately clean. It was very convenient to have a laundry room. The fireplace made the entire house warm and cosy. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Television with Netflix and other streaming services, board games, books and a pacman machine just topped it off!

Hanmer is great for a quick getaway, very peaceful and the guys enjoy the tracks for biking, us girls enjoy the cafes and shops. We have never had a bad time there, I guess it depends on the company but going there with a group is great fun.

Coming to the South Island? You have to travel to Hanmer!
Coming to the South Island? You have to travel to Hanmer! The pools and water slides are awesome. Hotels across the street, and food and coffee ready for you when you are done. Stay for the night as the pools light up and it is so calm under the stars!

The walking tracks were great and easily accessible.
The walking tracks were great and easily accessible. The thermal pools are a must to visit. We weer lucky in that there were not many people around. We ate at Saints and the meal on hot rocks was superb.

We love that it's not a big driver for us to get there, but...
We love that it's not a big driver for us to get there, but just far enough away to feel like we're on holiday. If you visit the pools in the cooler months, take jandals or slippers for walking between hot pools ha ha.
Unless you have tougher feet than us.
Relax and take your time enjoying everything Hanmer has to offer.
The accommodation is great too. Loads of choices.

A great spot for a weekend getaway.
A great spot for a weekend getaway. Being "local" I can plan to avoid school holidays and maximise my enjoyment as I no longer have young children.
Great for those that do have kids, plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied and get them into the outdoors. And the best part is it is good all year round.

Enjoyed our two nights at the Asure Hammer Inn. Older type motels but very clean and tidy and bright inside. We weren’t cooking on this stay so the kitchen which was fairly basic was fine with us. Excellent location to the pools and walking distance everywhere. Great that they allowed us to take a pool towel as we had forgotten to pack one. Extra friendly staff at booking and departure even down to finding us a screwdriver to to undo the battery compartment of a toy we were taking to a birthday party in the afternoon. Thank you ASURE.

The apartment was exceptional - I booked a spa bath unit which was fabulous after a long drive.
The location was sensational, as it was literally a minute or two to walk to everything but was so quiet considering its central location. The hostess was very welcoming and helpful with excellent restaurant recommendations. My accommodation choice made the stay in beautiful Hanmer Springs absolutely perfect. 👌

The hotel staff were very friendly and fantastic at handling our group booking. They were highly organised and made it so easy.
The bed was comfortable. The location is awesome - right in the middle of town and walking distance to the Heritage Forest.

Comfortable motel well above standard of some motels on New Zealand - we stayed there on a previous trip and were happy to come back. The kitchen is fine for breakfast but not for more ambitious meals.
