At the base of Farewell Spit on the beautiful part of North West Nelson known for its walks, wildlife and dramatic scenery is our little haven of Puponga. Birdlife and seascape combines with colonial history to provide a fascinating backdrop to numerous walks including to the photogenic Archway rocks of Wharariki Beach.
Hosts are a Nelson based family of 3 generations thus accommodating most age ranges for a comfortable stay
The surroundings are a number of permanent residents and beach houses on the site of a mining town that has seen interesting times with a few indications of its previous existence still visible. The proximity of Farewell Spit ( Onetahua) is a dominant feature with walks taking in seals and seabirds.
