Nestled in the gardens of the historic Tinui Station is Rose Cottage, a delightful self-contained cottage for up to four people. The Cottage features two bedrooms, full bathroom, cosy open plan living area with a wood burner & firewood and two private outdoor areas. In front of the cottage, you’ll find the spa pool and room to BBQ and dine outdoors. The side porch opens out into a secluded cottage garden. In summer trailing wisteria and climbing roses perfume the air. The kitchen features all you need to prepare meals including full size fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery, utensils, bowls, saucepans, frypans and baking dishes. There are window and door flyscreens and underfloor heating and heated towel rails in the bathroom. The two double bedrooms contain high quality, extremely comfortable beds with high thread count ironed sheets and electric blankets for cooler nights. Luxurious fluffy robes are provided for each guest. The cottage has its own spa pool, newly filled for you with fresh spring water, surrounded by a tall camelia hedge providing privacy and a delightful scent when in flower. The garden and grounds are a sanctuary for birds thanks to over eight years of biodynamic practices. Over 30 species of bird have been spotted here. From the Bellbird bringing in the dawn chorus, Tui celebrating the sunset and the Morepork at night, vibrant bird life defines the relaxing backdrop of the Estate. There is much to enjoy in the tranquil cottage surrounds. The immediate garden area is wrapped by a river-stone wall and home to established trees and flowers. We are centrally located to Mataikona, Castlepoint, Otahome and Riversdale beaches with a choice of options for swimming (Riversdale is patrolled during the summer season), walks, fishing or fishing charters, snorkeling and sights to see. The coastal walk at Castlepoint and up to the tallest lighthouse in the North Island is a must do. Inland, Rewanui Forest Park offers forest walks with notable plantings of native trees. There is also the Tinui Food Forest foraging guided tour nearby and the Rahui Coastal Loop with tailored E-biking loop options. Tennis court hire is available at Castlepoint or play golf at the Castlepoint Golf Course or Riversdale Beach Golf Club. Both golf courses are nine-hole courses – with the option to extend the Riversdale course to 18 holes by playing twice from different tees. The General Stores at Castlepoint and Riversdale offer coffee and tasty take-aways, especially the super fresh fish and chips from Castlepoint. Great pub meals can be had at the local Tinui Pub, just a short walk away and the Castlepoint Hotel (aka Whakataki Pub) a short drive away.
