It may be tricky to pronounce, but the Danish term hygge (hooga) was added to the Oxford dictionary in 2017 and is widely used to describe a feeling. One of cosy comfort, quiet time and connecting with close friends and loved ones. Hygge is about enjoying the small joys in life, unwinding and taking things slowly. We've tried to bring that feeling to our new Methven Airbnb... a place to come home to when you're visiting this beautiful region. The space Welcome to The Hygge Hutt, Methven's newest Airbnb that feels like home in the best possible way. Cosy, comfortable, a little bit vintage and quirky but with all of the modern amenities we can't do without. The home may be 110 years old but an extensive renovation around 10 years ago means everything has been updated to modern standards - fully double glazed and insulated with underfloor heating in both bathrooms, a heat pump (air-con unit), wood burner and heating in each bedroom means you'll be toasty no matter the weather outside. We have unlimited WiFi, smart TV and bluetooth soundbar, Nespresso coffee machine, a fully stocked kitchen including basics in the pantry and fridge and everything you need to cook, bake and serve in style. Newly set up with quality furniture, bedding and linen we're pretty sure you'll enjoy the Hygge Hutt as much as we do. We hope you feel the love and attention to detail that has gone into the set-up and it adds to whatever holiday you're planning in this lovely spot, whether it be skiing, mountain biking or simply relaxing in the wonderful Opuke thermal hot pools.
